It’s no secret that Italy’s known for their wine. Paired with some delicious homemade pizza or pasta, Italian wine goes perfectly with any comfort food. You might have heard that Tuscany, Italy – with its lush landscapes and beautiful vineyards – is one of the best spots for winemaking. One of the jewels of the Tuscan region is the 800-year old tradition of Chianti wine making!

Chianti is a lot like champagne, in that it has to be made in the specific “Chianti” region of Tuscany. It also has to be made with at least 80% Sangiovese grapes, and it’s sometimes blended with a nice Merlot or Cabernet.  It’s got a unique, earthy taste – a nice dry wine with just a hint of fruity texture!

Chianti pairs best with classic Italian dishes –

  • Lasagna
  • Pasta with Marinara Sauce
  • Chicken Parmigiano
  • Spaghetti Carbonara
  • Sausage Pizza

If you’re interested in pairing Chianti with some great eats, come over to CG this Thursday, March 14th for our Pasta Making Chianti Class! Learn how to cook some delicious, house-crafted pasta while enjoying a 4-course meal. Give us a call at (302) 533-0201 to make a reservation and have yourself a true Italian experience!
