A smart choice in Del. college town
..."Customers can sample a flavor or two from 24 selections,
among them wild berry, banana, peach, pistachio, coconut, peanut butter,
and many variations on chocolate. On an afternoon stop, I finally
selected two: white chocolate hazelnut and coconut. So creamy, so
delicious."...

Business Ledger Review
Another "upscale casual' destination in Newark is Caffe gelato,
at 90 E. Main St. Owner Ryan German said his eatery has been successful
because they came into a market with so many pizza shops and places
that market themselves to college students only, which is something
they do not do.

Best dessert: Caffe Gelato
The summer months approach promising days of simmering heat. When
Delaware's humidity turns the air into a sticky blanket of noxious
gasses clinging to every part of the body, residents search in desperation
for something cold, tasty and creamy to soothe the desert in their
mouths.
Never fear, Gelato is here.

Spark Weekly, "Outdoor Eats"
"THE OUTSIDE SCENE: The small, quaint space can serve
as either a romantic, casual or professional dining spot. This upscale

Manager Ryan German, also an alliance board member, has showcased
a different artist's work at the cafe every month since it opened.
He hopes other Main Street businesses will hop on the bandwagon."

News Journal, Dining
..."So it certainly was a surprise to see on this one fine evening
not so long ago a string quartet, poised elegantly out on the sidewalk,
smack in the middle of a town known more for poorly over-amplified
rock 'n' roll than classical interludes. As they passed Caffé Gelato,
the wandering Newarkians would pause, listen and maybe even drift
inside."

OUT AND ABOUT MAGAZINE, Excerpt:
... " But gelato has a dramatically different appearance. In
the display case at Caffe Gelato in Newark - believed
to be the First State's lone "gelato joint" - the stuff
resembles cake icing. And the texture is considerably smoother than
the cup of strawberry ice cream we sample at the Ben & Jerry's
in the University of Delaware's Trabant Center."

DELAWARE WOMAN, Excerpt:
If you have your heart set on sitting outside, watching the hustle
and bustle of Main Street, and taking in the fresh air and entertainment,
it is a good idea to call ahead for reservations. Every summer,
the heat moves in and so do the soothing sounds of string music.
