About Us

Caffé Gelato opened in April of 2000 The restaurant has been awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence and serves lunch Monday - Saturday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. and dinner 5 p.m.- 10 p.m. Brunch is served on Sunday 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. There are over 120 different wines offered from the 1500 bottle wine cellar.

Caffé Gelato serves Northern Italian, Mediterranean inspired cuisine. "Tanner Dunlop prepares entrees with flavors that jump off the page when you read them," says the restaurant's owner Ryan German."

We have a strong culinary focus of preparing meals with flavors that are not easily duplicated by our customers at home." Current entrée favorites from the dinner menu include the Proscuitto wrapped Veal Chop, Mint Pesto marinated Rack of Lamb, and Peppercorn encrusted Salmon served over plum tomato, arugula, and asiago risotto.

Dinner Specials change daily with five new selections offered each night. Here Chef Dunlop creates dishes with the freshest meats, seafood and produce available. Based on what is available at the market,

 

Caffe Gelato Photo Tanner creates dishes like porcini dusted filet mignon, caramelized diver scallops served with a blood-orange beurre blanc, and smoked gouda, roasted red pepper, and spinach stuffed pork chop. The seafood, meat and produce deliveries often arrive just hours before dinner service begins.

For dessert, Caffé Gelato offers homemade Italian gelato mode on the premises. Flavors such as white-chocolate macadamia nut, tiramisu, chocolate hazelnut, mokka cappuccino and coconut are

customer favorites. Over 24 different flavors are available daily. The flavor of the month is selected from customer suggestions each month.

Ryan German was inspired to open Caffé Gelato after studying abroad in Toledo and Granada, Spain during the late 1990's. Like most European countries, Spain serves Italian gelato. German later returned to Europe, this time to Porto Santo Stefano, Italy, to learn to make gelato using the recipes of the artisans. The recipes have been in use for over 300 years.
